Competitive IA Audit (Findings)

Goal:
Understand how other networking, mentorship, and women-in-tech apps (Rewriting The Code, Fiver, and Dribbble) structure their information and discovery, profiles, and community in order to design SheMyte’s IA around clarity, intent, and belonging.

Community & Belonging (RTC)

Mentorship, member stories, and identity-based groups create trust, but interactions are often off-platform (Slack, forms).

Opportunity: Integrate community directly in-app.

Filtered Discovery (Fiver)

Powerful category + tag system makes it easy to find niche talent, but overwhelming hierarchies bury users with too many entry points (multiple tabs, redundant menus, scattered features).

Opportunity: Simplify filters into a clean explore bar.

Portfolio-Centered Profiles (Dribbble)

Draw inspiration from Dribbble’s clean and project-forward layout. Profiles focus on projects + identity, showcasing capabilities visually.

Opportunity: Make portfolios + tags the core of SheMyte profiles.

Intent-Driven Navigation (SheMyte’s Edge)

Competitors like Fiver and Dribbble separate seekers and creators (buyers/sellers, mentors/mentees).

Opportunity: SheMyte adds a simple toggle (“Hire” vs. “Collaborate”) to clarify user journeys, with flexibility to switch anytime during app experience.

SheMyte: Proposed App Information Architecture
The SheMyte information architecture was built around four core areas (Dashboard, Profile, Discover, and Portfolio) designed for intuitive navigation and seamless user journeys. Key features like filters, tags, and swipe interactions were structured to streamline discovery, collaboration, and future scalability.

SheMyte: Final App Information Architecture
The final SheMyte information architecture was streamlined into clear entry points and settings flows, with expanded focus on privacy, security, and support. It also introduced detailed discovery filters, richer profile editing, and enhanced messaging features to balance user safety with networking and collaboration. Sign-Up flow is more fleshed out as well.

SheMyte: Low-Fidelity Wireflows
The lo-fi wireflows illustrate how users move through SheMyte from the moment they log in, to onboarding, exploring opportunities, building connections, and managing their profile. The flow is intentionally simple and familiar, with swipe gestures for discovery, clear navigation, and personalized onboarding to make sure each user immediately feels the platform is tailored to their needs.

SheMyte: High-Fidelity Wireflows
The hi-fi wireflows bring SheMyte’s vision to life with a polished, intuitive experience. Building on the lo-fi foundation, the final design emphasizes clarity and visual feedback, such as filled button states, swipe-based interactions, and personalized onboarding paths for hiring or collaborating. Robust profile creation, filters for discovery, and enhanced settings for privacy, notifications, and support ensure that users feel both empowered and safe. By refining flows like onboarding, messaging, and profile management, the hi-fi designs demonstrate how SheMyte balances usability with community-driven connection.
